I don’t have any socials like Instagram or Facebook or Twitter to keep up with the top teams and the top leagues.

Are there any good RSS feeds to keep up with football? How about apps that aren’t super invasive that are similar to OneFootball?

You could try podcasts, but that’s mostly for after the games. If it’s just to keep up with scores, there should be plenty of apps available. I’ve been using Sofascore.

I use Inoreader to subscribe to a bunch of quality feeds. It works with the usual RSS feeds and also YouTube (it automatically syncs in your subscriptions there), Reddit, and Telegram. I have filters set up on feeds that publish a lot of general football content so that I get just the stuff I’m interested in. E.g. the TalkSPORT YouTube channel I have a filter set so that I only get the Spurs and Brighton related videos.

The only football app I use is Sofascore. Also use the website a lot along with FBref and WhoScored. I find Soccercatch.com best place to find highlights.

The main RSS feeds I subscribe to are:

    • The Athletic (Tottenham Hotspur and Premier League) (Inoreader has a button that loads the whole content of the article)
    • The Guardian (Spurs and Jonathan Wilson)
    • The Telegraph (Football)
    • BBC Sport (Spurs)
    • The Evening Standard (filtered for Spurs stuff)
    • Sky Sports News (filtered for Spurs stuff)
    • WhoScored (filtered for Spurs stuff)
    • Fabrizio Romano Telegram (filtered for Spurs stuff - it’s a mirror of his Twitter feed)

    YouTube feeds I subscribe to:

    • A bunch of Spurs channels (just ask if you’re interested)
    • Tifo IRL
    • Great Touch TV
    • FourFourTwo
    • Football Made Simple
    • Mastering Tactics
    • Rabona TV
    • Sky Sports Football
    • TalkSPORT (filtered for Spurs stuff)
    • Statman Dave Clips
    • The Overlap
    • The Purist Football
    • Football Pundits
    • Daily Mail Sport

    Podcasts:

    • A bunch of Spurs ones (The Game is about Glory, The Extra Inch, Gold and Guest, The View from the Lane, Chris Cowlin, The Fighting Cock)
    • BBC Football Daily
    • BBC 606
    • The Athletic Football Podcast
    • The Athletic Football Tactics Podcast
    • Tifo Football Podcast
    • The Ripple Effect
    • The Guardian Football Weekly
    • The Rest is Football
    • Totally Football Show
    • Athletico Mince

I also use Mastodon a lot (@hallenbeck@mastodon.online) with lists and hashtags. And I’m mod of the !coys@lemmy.world community :)

The athletic, which is owned by the new York times, is pretty good. It isn’t free though.

I’ve been using and have donated to Fotmob to keep up with scores and leagues, been using it since about 2014 and love it.
