1·3 days agoI haven’t seen any shops accepting foreign currency here, I don’t think it’ll work out. Better to just exchange it for aud.

2·8 days agoReally bad idea to have a big Russian minority in Lithuania, which is what adding Kaliningrad would do, that could cause some instability issues.
I strongly recommend commet, it has a really nice ui that’s discord like and has most of the features implemented and has notifications either with google play services or unified push. https://commet.chat/, you can download the apk from there

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your preferred form of proportional representation, and why?English
5·21 days agoPersonally like MMP, it is already shown that it can work in the real world (used in NZ and other places) and generally produces fairer results than other systems, as well as giving minor parties more power and influence than in other systems. I would also suggest using preferential instead of first past the post voting for the constituencies to reduce strategic voting.
I’d suggest Cromite as a good option if Firefox based browsers run terrible, I use it since Firefox browsers are not recommended on Grapheneos for security reasons.

Matrix@programming.dev•Any tips on how to handle matrix moderation?English
1·1 month agoI already mentioned I have draupnir. Maybe it worked well for you, but I’ve found it annoying and there’s still a lot it can’t do. Its also not all that user friendly. I was trying to see if someone had an alternative. Again, I’m not someone who is that tech saavy and I have had no luck at self hosting, and don’t want to get a provider. Also we are a pretty large server and are growing, so I really want to know how that can work on matrix. I’ve found most uses of matrix to be for small groups and not large communities, and haven’t found much for what to do as a large community.

7·2 months agoWould like to point out politics is not actually the primary content on the fediverse and based on the downvotes you’re getting, you seem to be in a minority, not the majority. Now have a good day and bye.

10·2 months agoDon’t think I was demanding much here, I’m trying to say that people who want to talk politics should talk in the communities meant for that, not in the non political communities and make it everyone else’s problem. But sure, I’m demanding policy change to ban something.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your least favourite thing about the fediverse or lemmy?English
101·2 months agoYeah I understand here, there’s a lot of knock on effects from political decisions that eventually cause stuff like this. I was more focused on people coming into comment sections and spouting political ideology and partisan politics rather than stuff like what you’ve said here.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your least favourite thing about the fediverse or lemmy?English
701·2 months agoDefinitely the amount of politics, it gets brought up in far too many places where it is unnecessary, I avoid political communities and stuff like that, yet I keep getting it in communities with 0 relation.
