For exigent circumstances like an active shooter or hostage situation they do not need a warrant to roll up. That is what makes these kind of issues so concerning. SWATTING has been going on since streaming became more main stay for any reason or no reason at all. Anyone can do it and repercussions on the caller are almost none existent so it is seen as a “fun” way to cause mayhem.

Hell the last CR we had the GOP pulled back and reallocate funds that the Dems specifically wanted. So even if they do get concessions what can stop the same thing from happening twice?

My inner cynic is coming to the surface on this one. I would rather the GOP control all 3 branches so it doesn’t give them an excuse that the “other side” is holding back progress or some other bullshit. Yes it would mean unchecked power, but it might be the only way to open people’s eyes…I can’t even finish that because I doubt even that would happen.
That also seems to be an issue that keeps happening. Single issue voters. People get so locked in to one issue and will just straight up toss salad of the person that says they are going to make their issue their #1 priority.
Only problem is that #1 priority is on the same scale as 20+ other #1 priorities and the official is going to take on those issues that will benefit themselves the most.

Being a vet myself I would HOPE that most commanders especially the Joint Chiefs would say no to that level of absurdity and bullshit. If it came down to it yes he could relieve commanders till he found someone to follow his orders, but if that happened I would almost assume a coup would take place because the CIC is trying to subvert the Constitution and every Service Member is charged with upholding said document.
Now getting a 3 letter agency to do it…is another matter entirely, but again any federal employee is sworn to uphold the Constitution and not the man. I just feel those 3 letters can be swayed a little bit easier.
With my portion and my companies portion, it would almost be the equivalent of what Germans pay in taxes for all the programs they have over there. I think most are in the same boat we just don’t realize that we are getting fucked or we do but we don’t realize by how much.

You are just being pedantic. Food insecurity is the term used for people who may have to skip meals because they lack money to but it, it is not provided by programs in schools/communities, or they have food but it is inadequate to meet their dietary needs to grow/develope or even live.
So yes you could not be “starving”, as you put it, because you can go to the corner store or whatever and buy a candy bar, but that doesn’t mean that same candy bar is going to sustain you. You body will starve because it lacks vital nutrients.

70k by everyone’s standards other than the top 1% is a lot of money, because we have always had to focus on surviving and can make that amount work. Life isnt going to be roses, but it will be life. It really does come down to buying power, but also priority. Back in the 70/80s buying tech (tvs, computers) was insanely expensive. Now you can pick up a 65in for like 200usd. Back in the 90s a new car was under 10k. Now a decent car bought new is 35/40k. Housing…I am not even going to touch it. I bought a 5 bedroom 2400sq ft for 89k in PA in the early 2000s, now that house on zillow is 350k. I only had it a year and I sold it for 85k after closing and everything. Prices for things have flipped for a lot of items that used to be luxury compared to necessity. That’s how we can afford avocado toast because we can only afford eggs/bread/ and a single avocado.
I dont want to start a 2nd argument, and I am not confident I am getting my point across. I just feel all that are here arguing should not be arguing amongst ourselves since we are essentially in the same boat amd should be putting our efforts at the real issue.
