Fyrnyx@kbin.melroy.orgto Games@lemmy.world•The Video-Game Industry Has a Problem: There Are Too Many Games12·45 minutes agoBut I don’t see how it is a problem. Because the article or whomever wrote it, is basically asking the industry “hey, take a break, stop producing things.” Which, you mind as well ask every other industry and it’ll more ridiculous per request.
“Hey Authors, please stop writing things, I need to catch up on my library!”
“Hey movie directors, please stop making films, I need to watch my library!”
“Hey TV Networks, I need to catch up on this series!”
See how dumb that all sounds?

It’s your own fault, just as it was mine, for compulsively buying games you’re not going to play ever. There’s still going to be games being released after you die, so, why worry too much about the volume of games?

Fyrnyx@kbin.melroy.orgto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is it racist to oppose illegal immigrants?36·3 hours agoAbsolutely not.
I really do believe that America should fix America first before it decides to try and ‘help’ other nations. The problem is, obviously, the wrong people are in place and doing it all wrong as possibly be.
Illegal Immigration has been a thorn in America’s side for a couple decades now in recent memory. The only ones who benefit from it, are obviously corporations who love the idea of cheap labor in the form of modern-day slavery. The immigrants who come here, are not seen as people, they are seen as assets. And it is glaring, how those assets are ironically seen as more valuable than natural born workers who got hired.
Don’t believe me? I’ve witnessed it where someone who immigrated here, got to take multiple months off from work and come back to retain her job. Meanwhile, people like me, have had to practically work and weed my way through the system to make sure I have days off, to make sure I keep my job secure. Tell me how in that way is it fair. There are probably numerous examples where naturally born citizens are sometimes treated lesser than, than those who came here from other countries and picked up similar positions to work.
But certain groups of people brush all of that under the rug and play the label game instead, rather than addressing the problem. It’s easier for people to side-step these issues when they aren’t the one experiencing them, so it must be comfy to think radically as if they don’t exist.
And I don’t really buy into the logic that the United States, and ONLY the United States mind you, should have open borders. Countries are allowed to have borders and keep them safeguard, it’s been a thing for CENTURIES! But because it’s the 2010s or 2020s, no no, we have to discard that ideal and apply it only to the United States. I’m sorry but the United States are as allowed as any other country in the world, to have borders and secure them as they see fit.
My point of the matter is, is that if you’re going to migrate to the United States, you’re expected to assimilate. Not be cherry picking and expecting people to bow to your will just BECAUSE you migrated, it doesn’t make you that special. You don’t charge over into places like Japan, Germany or other countries and expect them to bow to your will just BECAUSE you migrated from the United States, do you? If so, you’re part of that problem.
And if you don’t want to assimilate, then you’re best being shipped back. Otherwise, it adds to the problem and I think the whole honeypot melting thing that the US Government has tried pushing around for a while now, has been a fundamental failure. Because now it has been completely politicized and only has made more people argumentative over the issue when it should have just been simpler.
Fyrnyx@kbin.melroy.orgto Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•How safe is web archive for software?5·11 hours agoIt is not a piracy site though it is treated as one, given the content. I would want to say it is safe but I think the IA is in the gray area. Like, it’s a place where you should get what you can while you can, because with all of the attacks and lawsuits targeting it, it is really uncertain how much time the IA has left It could be a few years but it could also be a few months, depending on who knocks on their door about things they saw that they want removed.
And IA has been complicit in doing what they can to abide by whoever wants stuff removed, so don’t take it for granted, I still would use VPNs to even download from it.

Ice Cream as well but not for diabetes, but could be lactose intolerant. It hasn’t really stopped me from eating it from time to time.

Fyrnyx@kbin.melroy.orgto Technology@lemmy.world•Google says adblockers caused YouTube views count to drop - this is what adblockers told us really happened7·1 day agoIt is like they know you’re using adblocks, so instead of trying to force ads down your throat, they try making your experience miserable by breaking their own viewer or whatever. It is absolutely petty of them.
Leave a video sitting there in idle for too long, come back, it plays for 10 seconds then has to reload itself. Sometimes, it doesn’t do this, so it requires a complete refresh.
They can do this bullshit all they want but I am not letting up on blocking ads.

The only reason they failed the first wave was because nobody at the time thought to treat them as just smaller laptops that could be improved. They were just glorified pre-Chromebooks that were underpowered.
Technology has progressed since then so there’s no excuse not to bring them back. I loved the idea of carrying something that small around and not have it hinder me as much as a full laptop could.

Fyrnyx@kbin.melroy.orgto politics @lemmy.world•Judge finds misconduct by Trump's DOJ in Luigi Mangione case15·2 days agoThat’s largely going to be dependent on a couple things;
Luigi’s Attorney now has to hammer on this hard, hard enough to stick it through one ear hole and out the other through the thick skulls of the prosecutors. There are strong pieces of evidence now that say that Luigi’s 5th Amendment rights has been violated and that people from the DOJ have overstepped themselves.
The other thing is whether anything is going to stick. Even if Luigi walks or is given lesser sentencing or whatever. Trump’s crazy ass or the crazy ass DOJ of his is still going to want to try and kill Luigi anyways by making him go through another trial by re-writing the rules.
