Just finished Blindsight by Peter Watts and The Mountain in the Sea by Ray Nayler. Both are very good books that I highly recommend. Unbeknownst to me when I picked them up, they are both about consciousness.
Just started Service Model by Adrian Tchaikovsky and When the Moon Hits Your Eye by John Scalzi. I’m liking Service Model so far. When the Moon Hits Your Eye is a bit cheesy (sorry for the pun).
This isn’t book burning. This is more like we’re refusing to print and distribute more copies of their books for them.
After reading the comments here I have been convinced we should create a list of these artists, and none of their content is welcome in this community.
Main points being:
Nazis, racists, transphobes, homophobes are not welcome here under any context!
They sourced the creator this time. Isn’t that what we wanted? Or is there more I don’t know?
Just finished “How to Commit a Postcolonial Murder” and “Binti”
The former is very good lit fic. It does deal with some tough topics including rape and murder, but it’s very good. Highly recommend.
Binti is very short, but well done. The book won a Hugo award.
Currently reading “Blindsight.” It’s also quite good, though I’m only through the first section.
Just finished Binti by Nnedi Okorafor. Short and enjoyable. I’ll definitely read the other two books in the series at some point.

Playing DS1 with my husband using the seamless co-op mod! I’m excited as he’s never played it before, and he wouldn’t play it on his own.
I’m so glad the mods exist, but why can’t fromsoft just add this into their games?

I finished a Confederacy of Dunces, and Three Body Problem. Now I’m about ⅓ through The Dark Forest.
I’d recommend all three of these books!
A Confederacy of Dunces is a Pulitzer prize winning comedy. By the end of the book you really like Ignatius, even though you hate him in the beginning.
The other two books are part of the “Remembrance of earths past” trilogy. Easy recommend for sci-fi fans.
That’s fair. There are often errors in the pirated copies.

How to do Nothing - I’m about halfway through now and liking it more, but not a lot. Still waiting for actionable items instead of the author just quoting a bunch of other writers.
A Confederacy of Dunces - I read the first chapter a while back and bounced off it, because the main guy is too insufferably realistic to how many Americans are. Started it again and I’m really enjoying it now.
I’m reading Stranger in a Strange Land and How to do Nothing.
I’m really liking stranger in a strange land. What he imagined as sci-fi is interesting especially if you remember it’s written in the 60s. Lots of dialog, which I enjoy.
I’m not loving how to be perfect. I’m about 25% through, and it feels like most of it could have just been a blog post. Very verbose for the content provided.
