It’s kinda been writing itself from the very start. There are always enough weird, funny and fucked up things going on to make episodes about. I think it’s just harder now because of how quickly everything happens and how much there is to choose from.

A playlist I made and have been playing a least once a day this week, no real category or anything just went with what I felt like adding:
Tidal: https://tidal.com/playlist/957863ac-2f13-4035-aac1-97ec1c3073bb
Youtube (one song missing): https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZeNdb-IjuBCN8S4wz2WFHd9O7h_4yNQe
Anyone have any recommendations for sharing playlists easily? I use Tidal but know few others that do, and would rather not use youtube.
Edit: here’s a screenshot and text of the whole list if you want to use something else to make/listen to it: https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/48a1a0ad-e52d-4083-a2ad-46e97e8aa201.jpeg
In text format: https://pastebin.com/5dB2CREs
Also been listening a lot to Franco Battiato: https://youtube.com/@francobattiatovevo
(Sort by popular if you haven’t heard it before, the top songs there are all amazing).
There’s no way that misspelling isn’t rage bait. Stop posting shit like that.
We now are closer to the year 2050 than 2000.

I actually made three new friends on new years eve completely through mentioning Linux. We were at a party and I had a really bad year last year so I was rusty in the “talking to people” department, the few people I knew there, who are indie games devs that don’t use Linux, said something (can’t remember exactly what) that made me reply with a Linux joke and those three people moved their chairs closer to me with a “ooooh, a linux nerd, let’s fucking go” energy. We went on such a nerd dive that they party host told us that we aren’t allowed to talk Linux anymore or we’d have to leave.
We talked a lot more through the night and had to really concentrate to not get thrown out, haha.
You truly live up to the craziness of your username, you’re deep into psychosis.

6·4 days agoThat really doesn’t fit here IMO. It took decades of bullshit, law breaking, blatant spying, hostile persuasion etc. of US IT being forced onto the world, and without Trump and the fucking nightmare circus that’s going on this wouldn’t have happened. The world would have kept bending the knee and even inviting all of it forever, it took THIS MUCH to get the world to take a step back and realise that this isn’t a good thing.

122·4 days agoI actually recoiled when I opened the image. I don’t know why this makes me feel so uncomfortable and dislike those women so much just because of the faces they’re making.
Yes, but only actual snus, if you use shit like what’s in the photo you only deserve to be slapped in the face so hard that you won’t be able to use it ever again.
Would be actual tobacco snus though, not that vile shit made for teenage girls that’s in the photo.

This is becoming the new word that people just seem unable to get right and it is just as easy to understand as all the other common ones. It’s seriously like there’s a conscious campaign to make more and more people forget more and more basic words and grammar, and most of those that make those mistakes are American. You gotta be so dumb to not get this right.
Congratulations, you’re so fucking dumb that I felt my own brain cells dying from just reading your comment. You should just restart life, go back to kindergarten and try to learn every step of the way.

Games@lemmy.world•Why is Valve being sued for almost $900 million, but Epic Games wasn't sued when they bought Rocket League and Fall Guys to remove them from steam?English
11·5 days agoThey could remove that competition by making a better product, but that is somehow always the last thing they’d ever think about. It never stops being so fucking weird with all these business people who go to great lengths to do shitty stuff and always end up making it worse for everyone except a quick buck for themselves, even though they could easily make a lot more for a longer time by simply doing a good job. But no, that would require anything other than immediate greed. Absolutely vile people.
I often think in vague concepts and feelings and rarely do someone perfectly capture what those are, but you did with those two words. I want a painting of her hanging on one of my walls.
I actually don’t know, it’s been my favorite/lucky number since I was a kid. I’ve really thought about it and tried to remember, I’ve asked my parents etc. but no one knows. It’s a really cool number though, some random things:
The golden angle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_angle
Age of the universe: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_the_universe
The periodic table should end at 137 elements. Here’s a good blog post about it: https://gravityandlevity.wordpress.com/2013/04/27/where-the-periodic-table-ends/
And here’s just about the number itself: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/137_(number)
Here’s a great video about 1/137: https://youtu.be/RCSSgxV9qNw
And an article (there are many more about it): https://science.howstuffworks.com/dictionary/physics-terms/why-is-137-most-magical-number.htm
There’s a lot more where 137 pops up, but please don’t take this as me thinking it’s some deeper thing and that 137 is the truth of the universe or whatever else conspiracy mumbojumbo. I’m a science nerd and just think it’s fun to have it pop up in so many places of importance, and I know most of those are via our own completely subjective measurement scales (a circle being 360°, measuring the age of the universe in earth years etc.) Some have asked if it has anything to do with 1337, and it has no connection to that.
I have a fantasy (as in it only exists in my head, so far) sci-fi universe that I’ve been developing for most of my life where 137 is important that I hope to do something with in the future. Like writing a book, making a game etc. all I can say is that blade runner and 2001 are major inspirations for it. I gotta head to bed but can post more fun things about it tomorrow.
It’s still better than the vast majority of similar guides that are posted. Most of them seem to be proton ads, which is an objectively worse thing, and most others have stuff like brave on the list. And it’s not like they tried to hide it here, it’s right there at the bottom. Seeing them actually give alternatives to even their own things is great IMO. The only fault here was OP not making it clear in the title where the image is from, no matter how obvious that is.

Did you miss the “autoplay and highly personalised recommender system”? Those are the two big major differences and what makes people so addicted to tiktok etc. in a much worse way than forums in all forms (like reddit and lemmy). Reddit and Lemmy doesn’t have any thing that curates what you see based on your habits, that’s done by yourself or not at all.
