  • Yk, I loved him so much that i slowly lost myself trying to please him. I kept putting his needs before mine adjusting and making efforts to keep him happy. And deep down, i know he never put in the same level of effort.

People keep saying that if I hadn’t made him the centre of my world and given him everything so freely, he wouldn’t have taken me for granted or left me.

Or maybe he has never cheated or maybe we would have been happy if i had stayed longer, but the moment i caught him, he dumped me. Just a minute before that, he was talking about our future and telling me how much he loved me.

  • So are you saying i somehow deserved to be treated that way because i was insecure and dependent on him? I understand that i lacked self worth, but does that make his cheating and treating me like a second option my fault? If I wasn’t dependent on him for validation would he have never cheated and stayed with me?

Btw thank for replying…I agree with what you’re saying. I understand that i need to work on my self worth and stop depending on others for validation.

  • Thank you for taking the time to reply and share your experience with me. I really appreciate it❤️ I think I needed to hear this from someone who has been through something similar. Lol ngl, I was genuinely ready to leave everything behind for him, even my city, because I truly saw a future with him. But he was someone who kept putting his own comfort above everything else. He would even ignore me while we were walking together, busy texting his friends, and I’d feel like I wasn’t even there. I used to cry almost 10 days every month because he kept dismissing my needs and making me feel like I was asking for too much…

  • Thank you for explaining this. I think I was holding on to the good moments and the future he promised me, hoping things would eventually work out. It’s hard to accept that we kept repeating the same cycle, because I genuinely believed we could make it work. Maybe I was too focused on his potential and the person I knew he could be, rather than accepting the reality of our relationship. I still don’t know whether he genuinely loved me or not, but I’m slowly realizing that I don’t need to figure that out to accept that things weren’t working.

But one thing I still struggle to understand is, was cheating on me really necessary? If he wanted to explore, talk to other girls, or experience life outside our relationship, why couldn’t he just tell me honestly and end things before doing that
