interesting. but I don’t think her views sound very alien, the view of “racism is over” is widespread. and on the other issue, national unity is important because it’s been so hard to achieve and maintain in the past. I don’t agree with such broad statements like “people should have a choice in who governs them”. it matters more what those choices are, and you can’t just blanket statement “choice is good no matter what”. your statement about devisions in Europe from historical kingdoms is interesting because obviously there’s been a considerable effort in forming unity across Europe.
what parts of your political discussions feel like that? and why? if you don’t mind me asking.
you completely made up the link in reasoning that the “countries provide … for their citizens”. how does a country provide quality of life? you took a correlation and filled in the blank on causation, that it’s purely caused by domestic government systems. not geographical, geopolitical, historical, material realities. the “suite of features” shared by these countries is more than just the ones you wanna focus on and ignore all the rest.
if we try our absolute hardest to just “do scandinavia” we will only get one step forward three steps back. you can count on reactionary capitalist claw back of any progress, the only long term solution is to defeat the capitalist class and remove their dictatorship. not beg them to give us tiny scraps from their extravagant buffet.
