Kudos to him. But the title is misleading - he didn’t build an e-bike, he built a battery pack/kit. Reading the title and looking at the picture I thought that he melted the plastic to mold it into a bike frame…

If you’re religious, you pay tax. If you’re not, you can opt out. https://www.welcome-hub-germany.com/blog/church-tax-germany
Thanks for sharing. Indeed no hole, but definitely refillable. I agree, It’s not the most user friendly option, but still an option.
I’ve never seen a “disposable” lighter that didn’t have a gas filling hole.
And every one forgave him, and even voted him into power.
All because South African Apartheid was fundamentally evil.
People forgave him because he actually changed his tactics, asked forgiveness and sued for peace instead of revenge.
“People tend to measure themselves by external accomplishments, but jail allows a person to focus on internal ones, such as honesty, sincerity, simplicity, humility, generosity and an absence of variety,” Mandela once said, according to a quote at the Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg. “You learn to look into yourself.”
What’s going on in the middle east is horrible. But, let’s not change history to fit your narrative.
The U.S. is not part of the ICC.
If we’re already talking about spelling mistakes… It’s Enshittification.
I guess I just found your wording strange. Plenty of people are interested in different cultures. People read Greek and Norse mythology, Japanese or Slavic folklore without even being from those parts of the world. Do you think that the Conjuring or Exorcist are only scary if you’re Christian? Or the Ring is only relatable if you’re Shinto… Or you can only enjoy Thor movies if you’re pagan…?
Why is it only scary for Muslims?
Are you going to apply the same rules to pedal assist bikes? Or are you planning to single out e-scooters only, like tfl did for some reason?
Acoustic bikes? What kind of witchery is that? Do you sing to unlock them or do they play music while you ride?
40% of that figure is international students, who tend to be wealthy and live in student accommodation which wouldn’t house regular people anyways. They also tend to leave after they finish their studies. So that would leave us closely with the recommended number of building new houses. People should really find another excuse to blame immigrants or bother reading the details of the stats they use. (Also, ONS and other think tanks said that this number is not going to continue going forward.)
I like what Mike Lynch (famous leader of one of UKs biggest union) said during his Novara media interview… I’ll paraphrase from memory. “Back in the day, your retirement was secured with your job. You’d get a pension from your employer when you get to retirement age. Then Thatcher and Reagan happen… Now days, there’s no security, benefits or high salaries anymore. So people do whatever they need to do to secure their retirement. And if it’s buying another property, so be it.”
Quick edit: before anyone gets angry. Neither myself or him want this to continue. It’s shit and we should fight to bring back dignity to people’s careers. But until that’s sorted, I think it’s ethical to care for your own and your family’s survival.
Technically correct, but your comment makes it sound like the military is actively commissioning movies, which is not the case. When Hollywood wants to make historical or war movies, they have few options:
I wish there were more options for independent and critical movie makers.
One would think that there would be more than just one lawyer who says that… Oh well… :)
Actually the title was named after Caesar to mean emperor after his death. It was so influential that many languages use this word as well. Famous examples would be Tzar in Russian or Keiser in German.
You need the IELTS UKVI (general) test which is provided by the British Council specifically. It’s the same exam, but stricter facilities. The ‘normal’ test won’t be accepted by the Home Office.
Just because you disagree with a definition, doesn’t mean it’s wrong.
Every country is culturally diverse, but there’s still statistical common denominator. You have big differences in languages, accents, food, culture in the UK and yet 82% are white British. Same goes for Germany, Japan etc. Every country do their demographic analyses differently, but the point is that they all can have major differences within the same ethic group.
So we should either agree to use the same definition or agree that it has no meaning and not use that word at all.
He is opposed to a policy which has already been thoroughly consulted on.
Wrong, I’m afraid it wasn’t. national grid consultation
It seems like the pressure is working, because they agreed that the initial assessment wasn’t enough: “We are also consulting on the preliminary findings from our environmental studies and assessments as well as proposed mitigation for any potential impacts to the local environment, including animal habitats and the local landscape.”
In any case the local campaigners want more scrutiny and consultation from a third party. Which is their right if we like it or not.
Liberalism is a moral philosophy based on individual rights, liberty and equality - this is universally agreed apon terminology almost everywhere apart from here on Lemmy. Here for some reason people keep referring to classical capitalism as liberals like it’s a historical discussion about the economic system of the 16th-18th centuries. We should really be using neoliberalism or libertarianism instead now days, because those are new words that evolved specifically to reduce confusion and refer to similar economic ideas but in modern context.
