This generates more incentive for the politicians to keep the people poor. The poorer the people are, the cheaper winning a vote is since less money will be enough motivation to sway them

70 more years now and they’ll understand that the whole socialism thing actually makes sense as well. Just like taking paying and taking care of your workers actually results in higher and longer production
In this dysfunctional world going straight to hell, Harald was a voice of reason and love

This was me when I was younger. I turned it around by using simple social queues. In a group, if a friend I trusted was making jokes on my expense I’d laugh. However, if someone else I didn’t trust/ accept would do the same (as often happened), I’d just stare at them with a neural expression. Maybe even a bit annoyed. Social situations are ball games. They all want to play ball. If you dont play ball, they will try to adapt so that you throw the ball back
This is only an argument if one values democracy, which the voters of Trump clearly does not

When things feel overwhelmingly big I usually refactor. The answer for me is usually folder by feature. Refactoring should be a natural part of the engineering cycle. You’ve learned a lot while getting to the point you are, and the structure reflects the outdated perspective.
Also don’t go out of your way to reuse logic. It’s a lot cheaper to adjust code that only has one dependency. If the duplication starts hurting, then consider converging. I usually start writing how I’d like to use the new code, then implement it to fit.
Hope my two cents helped

Cost of doing business
A shame. That sign hit me straight in the feelings

Is there going to be a class action lawsuit against this? If they’d have told me that I wasn’t allowed to install apps of my choosing on the phone I was about to buy, I never would have bought it. Them changing the terms two years down the line seems criminal

TIL! Thanks

If werewolf is manwolf, wouldn’t wereman be manman?

Been wanting to try and contribute like this myself, but it’s overwhelming. Would you mind sharing some tips/guides on getting a somewhat decent feedback loop up for testing out changes? I’m sure it varies a lot depending on what is being developed, but any input is appreciated
Not going to comment on people in general, but I’ll offer some personal experience as a Norwegian. Had a russian colleague a while back. She was hard working, smart, lovely and kind. Don’t have a single negative thing to say about her. However, when the subject of her origin came up things was a bit weird. It was hard to talk about. Not because of the talking, but more because of fear of not knowing what she would be willing to talk about. It’s also a bit scary because depending on what our stances on things were, it could easily turn into a conflict.
I also remember thinking to myself that no matter how good and honest she was as a person, she is still a security risk. Her connections to her country, i.e. friends and family, can be used as leverage to have her do things she doesn’t want to.
That said; if you are willing to get through those hurdles and understand/agree with the general Norwegian perspective on the Ukraine situation, I think you’ll be alright

My cure is to try new hobbies/activities. Especially ones that require your complete focus. Like Motorsports. Personally I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to singing in front of people, resulting in everything else disappearing during the vocal lessons I for some reason signed up for.
It used to make me sad that I couldn’t hold a single hobby, but I guess I’m just not built for it. Trying different ones as often as needed is more up my alley

Oh really. That’s… A bummer

I thought it couldn’t transfer between humans? Only from rodent saliva/pee/poop
Don’t worry. I’ll teach you some basic economy. If you have more costs than income you should try to either increase the income, decrease costs, or even better - both. That’s what he did
I try to preface the information I share with my source(s) and what I think about it’s validity. I judge the validity based on the source(s) I get it from, how many different outlets are reporting the same, but maybe more important is the comment section. It’s always useful to see what other people, often smarter people, think about the article. Also, often multiple sides develop that can bring a more nuanced view. Keep in mind that most comment sections are echo chambers, and treat the comments as signals just like the statement the article is making. Nothing is true or false, it is just more or less likely

Yeah. Powerful message though
I have a different perspective. No one are higher in the social hierarchy than the king. The fact that no one can buy themselves an equal or higher standing is valuable. When the king, like our line of kings, choose to ground themselves, to lift up the value of the ones on the bottom, it sets precedent for other “high status individuals”. It generates stigma for over-indulgence when even the king will abstain. That is if they do their part. Which is the tradition of kings in Norway.
I’m negative to monarchy in general, but in Norway’s case it works. Signed fellow Norwegian
