https://stingle.org, https://piwigo.org, and https://immich.app might be worth a look.
I used NextCloud, myself.

@Psyhackological
Couldn’t tell you. I only tried the gh release via Izzy.
@Psyhackological
Launches, but screens are empty. Discussion here: https://github.com/meditohq/medito-app/issues/688
@Psyhackological
Just an FYI, the current non-GPlay version of Medito is broken. I’ve been using Bodhi Timer for years, though, and can recommend it as a basic mediation timer.
@Psyhackological
Hey, good use of AI on that one! I love whoBIRD!
@lemmyreader
None of those change that the source is open.

Except people don’t use what’s better. That this belief persists is proof enough. You’re applying economists’ spherical cow, but as the complexity of a system rises, everyone’s ability to act rationally decreases. In my experience, most people gave up trying to understand tech years ago and just follow trends.
@CrypticCoffee
@humanplayer2 @dactylmanuform “Doesn’t harden” undersells it. IT STICKS TO EVERYTHING AND WILL CONTAMINATE YOUR LIFE!
@Followupquestion
Do the layer options not work for you?
@hellweaver666
@Sentinian @dessalines You could try SyncTrayzor Portable from a USB drive: https://github.com/canton7/SyncTrayzor
Paths might get weird? I haven’t tested.
@Charliebeans
But you can try!
In seriousness, sometimes you have to run away from people or situations to simplify. There are ways to do that without relocating, but sometimes it’s easiest to put some mileage between you and it/them.
@inasaba
@mfat
https://yunohost.org/ is an attempt to fill that gap, but it’s missing a key feature. Anything that wants to be broadly adopted will have to be appified these days.
@maor
@activator90
https://forgejo.org/ is attempting to solve that problem. If we all adopt it (or other federated forges that may appear), we don’t need GitHub at all.
@TheHolm
You may want to check out https://forgejo.org/. It’s a fork of Gitea that’s Fediverse-enabled.

wasm sandboxes can take IPs? Regardless, if we’re just talking density, I can put multiple IPs on a single interface or create a ton of virtual interfaces. That’s boring, though.
@MangoPenguin
If you’re scripting it yourself, https://www.complete.org/dar/ gives a few extra niceties over just zip files or tarballs.
Thank @jgoerzen for the nice summary.

You can always tunnel if your ISP won’t play nice: https://tunnelbroker.net/
@Sandbag
@boogetyboo
Well, we’re talking over one potential alternative, but how many competing standards is that now?
