  • I have a family of carpenter bees in my patio stair railing (iron). I’ve just repainted it and that’s when I’ve noticed that they keep entering the pipe on one end with nearly cut green leaves.

Should yi actually be concerned about them? One of them did fly aggressively around me before when I kept banging on their pipe (unrelated to them being in their) but no sting.

  • It’s not. The Hungarian government is a dictatorship though that controls the media and thus the narrative. It has an aging population glued to the radio and television.

The language barrier is the biggest hurdle to overcome. Magyar is so unlike any other language in Europe, many never made the effort to learn another, where it’s not just different words that they would have to learn, but entirely different syntax, grammar and intonation as well.

Budapest is like a beacon of enlightenment within a country of darkness. They just need to launch a bunch of rpgs from the top of Gellért Hill towards the Parliament when it’s in session. They can always rebuild it again later.

  • Now here’s another funky bit. Sometimes taking a break from a game and coming back to it weeks, months or even years later will make it feel like you’ve never been better before. And the numbers or scores might validate it.

    I’ve personally experienced this with:

    • QuakeWorld in the early 2000s, where my shaft hitscan rate went from low 20s to mid 30s and my movement control got even more fluid. Factor here might have been a PC upgrade
    • WoW around 2008 -> 2010 where I went from struggling in arena to hit the lowest rank to duelist. Factor here might have been my aging reflexes starting to compensate more strategy instead
    • Enter the Gungeon from 2013 -> 2015 where I was struggling to get past the first few biomes to maxing out the whole game and attempting streaks with 9 curse and turbo on. This definitely came after watching a few streamers trying to do speed runs and their movement and situational awareness of the mob patterns inspired me.

I’ve also revisited these games since, again, and definitely only gotten worse at them.

  • Here, I’ll quote your post:

Q3 firmware update broke Karabiner Elements Keyboard: Keychron Q3 ISO KNOB I had a working system with Karabiner Elements, I had mapped caps lock to be a hyper-key on macOS. Everything worked perfectly. Then I was stupid and updated to the latest firmware on the keyboard to 1.0.5 because it’s the new shiny.

My solution to use VIA to remap pertains to your Keychron Q3 ISO.

To add: every QMK/VIA capable keyboard has its own on board memory that you can configure INDIVIDUALLY and INDEPENDENTLY of the device it is connected to. If you have a Q3, doesn’t matter what device you connect it to, if you had mapped the key that has a keycap with caps lock printed on it to Hyper, it will always act as hyper/Ctrl depending on the OS of the device you are connecting it to.
