I’ve never really gotten infections in my life. About 5 years ago, I finally got an insect bite that became infected and it wouldn’t resolve on its own. Had to take a course of antibiotics to resolve it.

Crazy to think that a few centuries ago, that would’ve meant they’d have to cut off my arm or I’d die as a result of that.

Would’ve been selected out of the gene pool in the natural world. Poor eyesight is directly a result of the advanced functions of civilization.

Even at that, most people wouldn’t have lived to ages where degrading eyesight would’ve been a factor.
