Late Stage Capitalism@lemmy.world•Anti-Amerikkkanism is the only acceptable position
1·46 minutes agoNuance between imperialism and anti-imperialism. Room in your head for a little bit of American chauvinism?

11·1 hour agoHow is this not true? How can anyone possibly reconcile supporting the existence of the US government as being compatible with leftism?

Late Stage Capitalism@lemmy.world•The middle class was created to act as a buffer between the wealthy and the working class to protect the interests of the wealthy.
1·3 hours agoThe labor aristocracy and the “middle class” exists as a consequence of capitalists paying a portion of workers less than is required for social reproduction (underpricing their labor-power) and then selling these commodities to a group of more well-off workers, pocketing some of the super profits for themselves, but also sacrificing some to reduce the price of their commodities below what would usually be profitable, reducing the cost of consumption for already well-off workers, entrenching them as a middle class whose function is to consume. These people can become, on occasion, so wealthy (for a worker) that they can invest their money and turn it into capital, becoming petite bourgeois. This is the mechanism of increasing wage disparity. It doesn’t even need a conspiracy.
Yes, but the examples in recent history are often instigated. Like salafists wouldn’t have anywhere near the same influence without Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Arabia basically wouldn’t exist without US support.
The Shi’a Sunni sectarianism was helped (at least in Syria) by the US government.

Well, that’s ineffectual if it prevents you from having solidarity with the Axis of Resistance, the Alliance of Sahel States, the DRC in the conflict with Rwanda, Russia in ending the war against the Western-backed Ukrainian government, and the Sudanese Armed Forces against the UAE-backed RSF. We should put our support behind all anti-imperialist groups.
Bullying works.
“Nuanced.”
You’re gonna have fun reading them, especially, George Jackson. He’d have a lot to say about you.
“my concept”
Okay, it’s just slop. I wasted my god damn time, there was no point in arguing with this person. Go develop your own diy special snowflake political alignment, then.
“It would also have huge advantages for a state to dissolve the problem of state debt.”
Have you heard of the Dunning Kruger effect? Well, you’re on the peak of Mt. Stupid and set up camp there. Now your brain is dying from the lack of oxygen.

Don’t necessarily look like socialists, c’mon, bruh, there was nothing that indicated I didn’t support those groups as well. I do wish there was more communist opposition to international capitalism I’m just stating that there isn’t as much of them around in the post-cold War era.
Darwin is a terrible example because biologists didn’t throw out Darwin did they? I guess general relativity is a bunk theory and nobody should read about it, because now we know it’s probably only a low energy limit of some kind of 11 dimesional superstring theory.
Here:
Capitalist Realism by Mark Fisher written in 2009.
Women, Race and Class written by Angela Davis in 1981. (This one is a really good analysis of slavery in America.)
Soledad Brother: The Prison Letters of George Jackson was written in 1970. (I haven’t read this one, but it’s on my list. It definitely is still relevant: the horrific oppression of black people by the US carceral system is still ongoing and you can make comparisons to the treatment of immigrants.)
Kwame Nkrumah wrote Neo-Colonialism, The Last Stage of Imperialism in 1965 exactly coinciding with the release of the first ever desktop computer, the P101.

why are trains catching strays? I love trains.
Have you read the books? You should really read the books. It certainly can’t hurt.

The moderators here are fine imo, though.
