@Blaze @TheImpressiveX It’d be cool if that’s what upcoming #GameOfThrones movies aim to do

@mindbleach @ryathal #24onFOX modernized it before #JasonBourne, it’s sort of #JackBauer in film form
@simple @TheImpressiveX The #RottenTomatoes user score is mostly about how fun the movie is to watch, not how good it is
@Emperor It’s hard to make this fit into any sort of narrative.
Is he “homophobic” and intentionally trying to screw people over? Or, did he try to push the boundaries of what he could do and realized too late that he wouldn’t be comfortable doing this and decided to just bail?
Will the left praise him for not putting himself in a sexually vulnerable position he wasn’t willing to be in?
@Zoomboingding @UKFilmNerd I feel like 1:30-1:45 is usually pretty good. I have nothing against 2 minute long or even 2:30 minute trailers if they’re edited well though.
@UKFilmNerd That’s a good question. Even going back to 2018, I always thought the best trailer for #AvengersInfinityWar wasn’t even a trailer, but the “chant” TV spot:

But I agree with the audience, 2:30 trailers are usually pretty good. Once a trailer gets longer than that, you start to feel its length.
@ynazuma I could be wrong but don’t indie movies outnumber remakes pretty heavily? There’s really no shortage of fresh new movies because those are being made all the time and haven’t stopped.
In any case…yeah what is popular and mainstream will generally be mid at best, but I don’t think that’s unique to even this era of #Hollywood.
I think the real problem is that fresh indie movies are getting choked out from theaters by those franchise films by major studios: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3f-MA-o4xQ
@ynazuma @Emperor Sounds like somebody didn’t watch #BoyKillsWorld, #Kalki2898AD, #Horizon, #ISawTheTVGlow, etc.
@wintermute_oregon I thought the #Democrat party had moved away from the whole #DefundThePolice thing. That died with #BLM. Weird.
@dont_lemmee_down That’s a pretty creative take, I must admit! However you’re right, #NancyFaeser is closer to the situation and probably knows more about it.
However, if nobody is thinking or suspecting that this is or might be an Islamic terrorist attack, why even bring that up? Especially knowing this these types of instances inflame and provoke the far right.
@FooBarrington Yes, thanks for the correction. I thought I had edited the post.
@morphballganon If they were, that would make no sense
@morphballganon Many of these things might make people mad, sure, but the people replying in this community seem more mad that these things are getting reported than that these things are happening.
@morphballganon Yes. The thing is, most of the posts her are not about medical care.
If we go to the community, the posts on the homepage are about:
A #Muslim terrorist murdering a cop in #Germany: https://lemm.ee/post/33713396
A man getting exonerated for raping a child after he says it’s part of his ethnic culture: https://lemm.ee/post/33546099
#JoeBiden signing an executive order to limit migration into the #USA: https://lemm.ee/post/33589787
@McLoud I get the impression that this community is mostly left wingers either angrily downvoting posts, angrily downvoting comments, or angrily replying to the right wing/far right articles that get posted here. I kinda get an r/AskTrumpSupporters vibe from this community, with the exception that the right wingers here seem to be markedly more intelligent.
@breadsmasher I see, fair enough.
I do agree as well that it’s negative framing, although it’s not necessarily misleading.
A prominent government official in #France, #ChristianLindner, confirmed that this was an Islamic terror attack:
> Finance Minister Christian Lindner told German daily Bild that the death of the police officer “moves me deeply and makes me angry about what is happening in our country.”
>
> “We must defend ourselves against Islamist terrorism with determination, and we will also strengthen the security authorities financially,” Lindner says.

@affiliate @kameecoding It’s called an allegory, it can make what’s being compared to easier to accept or understand
