“Ape shall not kill ape!”

The government of California should have taken control of PG&E the last time everything burned down. Their inaction means it will all just happen again.

It will have no effect in the US. This has happened repeatedly since the oil crisis of the 1970s. Every time the gas prices go back down, people run out and buy or lease a gas guzzling automobile again. Then in a few years gas prices go back up, and people freak out again.

This is rich coming from “let’s stuff AI no one asked for into Firefox” Mozilla.

I will never understand why the SNW show-runner decided to introduce Fake Kirk. The whole point of the show was about the adventures of pre-Kirk Enterprise. And casting someone who has no resemblance to Shatner’s looks or mannerisms didn’t help. Kirk’s brother was a far more interesting character.

I paid $30 this morning for two pancakes and a side of scrambled eggs at a local restaurant. I don’t know what the solution is, but that business model doesn’t sound sustainable.

At $1000 per month, yep, rooftop solar with tax credits and incentives would probably take two to three years to pay for itself. Where I live, it took me about ten years. $900/mo for an average electric bill is just price gouging. The costs to generate electricity have actually gone down thanks to renewables.
It’s stupid that there aren’t more incentives for people to install solar and batteries. Decentralizing the grid should be thought of as a national security issue.

Is Missouri blue enough on one side that it could split into two states? Or is St Louis an island of blue surrounded by red?

That took entirely too long.

Some opinions aren’t worth publishing.

Shampooing your hair pretty much cleans behind your ears.

Uh, Trump has caused lasting damage to the dollar. Not just this stupid war.

In think this used to be true back in the days of The Peoples Court and Judge Judy. But after Jerry Springer and Real Housewives, I think any integrity in these kinds of shows has gone by the wayside. It’s cheaper and easier to just embellish or make stuff up completely, and it’s not like any of this programming is regulated anymore.

Finishing up “Fast Forward” by Robert Sawyer. It’s not very good. Lots of filler. One of the main characters finds out her young child has died and she just continues to mutter about like nothing has happened. One of the villains gives a long rambling speech about his motivations before shooting someone, like he’s a Bond villain. No one does this in real life.
I hear the TV show based on the book’s premise is much better. One of those rare instances where the tv show or movie is better than the book.

The Peter Ustinov film of this book is quite fun (as are the other Christie/Ustinov films from this era).
So is Android not being forced to do this as well?
