41·3 days agoLook, I get it. But you shouldn’t teach dishonesty. I was going to say we need people who care about others and our world instead of being completely selfish but the reality is we’ve been taking so much from resources and harming the environment that it’s probably too late. I’d like to believe my kids will have a better outcome when they’re adults but I’ll just have to die hanging on to that belief.

10·3 days agoDon’t forget, this happens in corporate jobs too. The only ones that can climb the ladder are the ones who do so via stepping on other employees and faking it till they make it.
A digital or physical copy of a receipt. But then how would they know the receipt is theirs? Well, they don’t. There are a subset of users who have bit for but copies. I think if they came into some legal trouble having that vs a rip would be better since the data is in tact the same way it was when purchased. Can I easily be called a backup.
I’m not your lawyer and I’m definitely not a lawyer anyway. Just playing Devis Advocate.

22·5 days agoAdmitting you’re wrong is a sign of understanding and willingness to learn. Outright continuing to think you’re right or push on in front of your peers is a special kind of idiot.
If so this is clever. In the wild event they get into some sort of trouble with copying, they have a bit-for-bit copy proving they own/owned the BluRay instead of a ripped copy.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is there a site where I can upload about 600gb to 1tb worth of files for free or on the cheap side and reliant? As a backup incase hardware problems?English
2·12 days agoI think I pay ~$12-$13USD for 3TB of storage with BB2. It’s been great. Nightly incremental backups with TrueNAS. Haven’t had the need yet to pull down the data (which I should, you should test your backups with a restore on occasion), but I have peace of mind knowing it’s there and encrypted.
Anything in the ska genre. Upbeat, trumpets are involved, catchy. Superman by Goldfinger. Sellout by Reel Big Fish. Impression That I Get by Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

Chapotraphouse@hexbear.net•After Macklemore, EVERY single supporting act of Ed Sheeran's tour has now dropped out in support of Palestine. Includes Ed's backing stage band Beoga and openers Lukas Graham, Finneas, & Aaron RoweEnglish
1420·19 days agoEd went public about this. It was his publicist who started this shit. He’s also openly stated he is not complicit in the ongoing situation and chooses not to make his political ideas and opinions public.

Do some research next time you assume blame based on a single article.
EDIT: I edited this multiple times after rereading Eds IG post. Although it may appear he is in support of Palestine, he did not explicitly say so. Therefore, I rescinded my original post. Sometimes it takes a few reads to confirm and interpret what is written.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is there no unified time zone for online communication?English
371·30 days agoYes. GMT is UTC (meaning GMT is +0 and synchronized with UTC), therefore if you have to work out what time it is in other time zones, you use UTC. Your application shows the time in your time zone (unless otherwise specified). Responses will also be shown in your time zone.

131·30 days agoCan’t review code if you don’t know how to. Are we meant to throw the source into AI and go, “hey is this safe”? While it may work, the time and effort sometimes isn’t. It’s literally being stuck between a rock and a hard place, so-to-speak. And before anyone says, “well, you should learn code”, I hear you. All due respect to those that can, I’m not taking the time because I don’t have time. I’m surviving from high gas prices, high grocery prices, higher bills (with for-profit companies reporting their best ever profits YOY), and keeping afloat. “Ain’t nobody got time fo dat.”

Samsung Tag 2 or whatever combined with uTag. Yeah it’s Samsung but it’s worked well for me.

I’ve heard MusicAssistant can now do radio stations and using (local) AI to generate a DJ that will announce the song and some other neat tricks. I haven’t used it in a while. Check out SmartHomeSolver (Reed) on YT, he had a video on it.
