I think security is a fair point, given caddy’s younger age compared to nginx, but I wouldn’t say it tried to do too much.
Why do you say that?
I’ve used both plenty and only once I thought Caddy was harder: caching. It requires you to install a plugin that also doesn’t have the easiest of configs. I think there’s a new and simpler one nowadays, but haven’t tried it yet.
I now use Caddy by default for everything new I make/host.
Yeah, Typist is great and has potential for much more still! The big issue is something like the network effect, LaTeX has everything you could possibly want, pretty much, and people will continue to primarily support it because it’s the biggest tool. It will be hard to break that cycle, but in the long run it may be possible.
Have you looked at all the different layers? A while back they added more of those, with different types of quests that don’t appear normally.
StreetComplete is godsend. Editing OSM in JOSM, iD, etc, is not trivial and involves reading a lot of documentation and forum posts (if you care to do things right), which of course isn’t anywhere near practical for small devices when you’re on the go, surveying.
This app changed my whole routine. The interface is really solid and helps the community target important tasks, rewarding it with little prizes. Althewhile, the gamification is kept at a very healthy level, to avoid attracting leaderboard seekers and whatnot, which would certainly lower the quality of contributions.
I think the contribution day grid (akin to GitHub’s thing) as well as the dynamic category explorer, the badges and the OSM-related projects it reveals to you bit by bit really bring everything together. It’s an incredible tool!
For the experienced (and this is not said lightly), there is the expert version, which adds more advanced editing features for those looking for a bit more control in regular SC.
I’ll add a pretty good classic that I haven’t seen mentioned yet: The Mentalist
Excelent performance by Simon Baker, of course, as well as from the supporting cast. First seasons are really good, with some great finales. Quality drops a bit past season 4/5 imo, but it’s still enjoyable.
This. I don’t even need real “scripts”, I just plug my big drive into my laptop, start dropbear and use the shell (fish) history to get the right command. Takes about 15s to do everything :p
If you want a more continuous thing, you can look into Syncthing or something like that.
The web font would also be cached, and it wouldn’t be that big of a resource in the first place. I think being able to copy a comment’s content is more important, but whatever.
I no longer remember details, but it was something to do with HeliBoard’s dictionary and the system one. Have you checked they both have the right languages?
LibreWolf is little more than a custom config for Firefox, they don’t do actual development on the engine, which is the important and very technically laborious part.
Not really, 2k is enough to have a result with a pretty low error %.
You’re totally right, my statistics is very rusty, good lord. For the ~240M eligible voters in the US, you can get roughly 2% margin of error, for the usual 95% confidence level.
My comment was a bit daft, in retrospective. Surely the polling people know what they’re doing, better than I do for sure x)
I guess it goes to show how non intuitive some statistical methods can be at first?
Isn’t 2k voters a comically small sample to draw any results from? I hope it is true, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
I’m not familiar with any service that works at the international level, but over in Portugal, the biggest ATM network, Multibanco, has had a service called MB NET (now integrated with the newer MB WAY app), which allows you to create temporary cards with 3 different behaviours: one-time, monthly, multiple uses. The first one always has 1 month of validity, while the others only expire after a year, and you can define a maximum capacity.
It works perfectly well in foreign online services, but you have to have a card from one of the associated banks (presumably from their Portuguese branch?).
Can’t use cash online, (nearly*) anywhere.
I have multiple domains and backup addresses on ProtonMail, so technically I have infinite addresses :P
I split mails domains at the identity level, and addresses (under my custom domains, for proton I use their simplelogin integration) are split between services, even though I use my main one in most places still.
Another commenter said goldwarden implements that through the Remote Desktop XDG Portal, which only GNOME and KDE support at the moment (wlroots doesn’t implement it yet).
Oooh, that looks very neat, thank you!
Even though I rarely setup Windows machines nowadays, here’s my usual Ninite package: https://ninite.com/7zip-everything-firefox-gimp-greenshot-inkscape-libreoffice-notepadplusplus-putty-qbittorrent-revo-steam-sumatrapdf-teracopy-thunderbird-vlc-winscp-wiztree
