That is the legacy of American freedom, my friend

You can’t exist in a solely ideological paradigm. You have to be pragmatic while working towards bending the world towards something better.
I am simply arguing that advertisements have a bad effect on society and our everyday lives. If more people cared, more could be done about it, instead of most people being unaware and/or delusional of its subconcious effects, and doing nothing about it.
You think the cookie business advertisements are no problem. I disagree, even though I ultimately believe there are much bigger problems (of course…) - This advertisement is manipulative nonsense, like the vast majority of them, and the business or the product etc. is not a cute little innocent thing.

It really must be a simulated administration just to see how much a president can get away with

Maybe most people are not angry enough (or aware enough) about how deceptive, manipulative, continuously invasive, and disturbing to our daily lives advertisements are. Don’t let off some business because their advertisement is “cute.” They just want you to buy their shit.

Have you considered doing something like: OHP/deadlift on day 1, and squat/bench on day2

Exactly. Every company is utterly bullshitting us, even the “mom n pop cookie companies”

no it’s good

I don’t enjoy every company pretending to be super cute and trigger our buttons to sell its most likely bullshit ass product which is “honestly” most likely totally unrelated to the advertisement they are pushing in our face

Lemmy the only place where well-articulated sentences still get misinterpreted.
Oh buddy… gestures to everywhere tho

“charming” ads
“We thought building a cardboard airline in a treehouse sounded more honest.”
I don’t think they know what “honest” means

Wait, in your original post you are saying 3 reps, and 3 rep max, and now you are using reps in reserve (RIR) which is different

Here’s the problem, for this to happen, we would first have to reorganize the economy/politics/society. Everything has turned to total shit because we live in a global capitalist plutocracy. Nothing is gonna get much better under that

Like, if they don’t have cell service when we go camping, they are just super agitated like they’ve lost their sense of smell or something.
LMAO
Me mfw when I’m a millennial laughing and also sympathizing at the GenZers’ inability to exist in the world without electronic devices and high speed bips and boops

It’s not deeply insightful imo beyond telling you what you’re doing now compared to what you’ve done before. Are you doing more than before? If so, good, that’s supposed to happen. If not, why?
And also it will tell you that there are some people who are stronger than you (at least in that lift) and some people you are stronger than (at least in that lift). Which is always the case.
Question for you: I rarely see or hear about people doing 3 rep max or 1 rep max with dumbells, usually that is a barbell thing? Why aren’t you doing more like the 6-12 rep range?
Also, there’s a good reason it is not recommended to do heavy compound lifts every day, like you said you’ve been doing. Has that worked well for you? You will probably advance more quickly by lifting less frequently! Rest/recovery is just as important as the lift, as it’s where the muscle actually grows and gets stronger.

I just started watching some anime and was thinking about this!
I watched a few different series in English, dubbed, and they seemed good… then I tried another “classic” dubbed in English (Attack on Titan) and I didn’t like it. I had a gut feeling that it would be better w/ Japanese and subtitles, so I decided to try it, and it was almost a different show… much better. Not only did the voices make more sense, the words are very different, almost completely different on some occasions.
I’m scared to rewatch the shows in Japanese that I already watched in English, haha.
I totally understand about not wanting to read subtitles, I don’t necessarily want to, either, but it can completely change the show and be the difference between it being good and not good… not to mention the creators’ original intentions…

This one was so disappointing :(

This describes like all the batman villains

ikr? America is a land where desperate people fight each other for the entertainment of elites and speculators
Do you really have to do all those lifts 2x a week each?
