@finalarbiter Stop your childish whining. No one’s going to hand you fucking change on a silver platter.
Cranky armchair wonk and word nerd.

@finalarbiter Stop your childish whining. No one’s going to hand you fucking change on a silver platter.

@halferect Or – hear me out – you could either grow the fuck up, or STFU. Take your pick. Bye.

Almost anyone can run for office, including you. Why don’t you?

@Lost_My_Mind You’re so extremely clever.

@paultimate14 No, they’re shifting the conversation towards classic racism. See the next comment. Then report and block.
You’re talking to a crypto-racist. They’re sad and pathetic people. But they’re also sadly common online. They know they can’t get away with saying what they really think, but they very badly want to express those racist views, so they couch them in what they hope is sufficiently vague language. But you can’t really be overtly racist AND subtle, and they’re not.

@foodandart More than a couple vets have told me that they consider modern dog-breeding animal abuse. And feel that cat-breeding should be illegal.

@ChristerMLB So what DOES their tools rely on? If it’s a curated corpus, then they need to say that. And if it’s a curated corpuse, then WTF does AI do, other than serve as the most inefficient means possible to deliver it? How is this different from having someone read a book to you?

@CowsLookLikeMaps He’s such an asshole. But this is who you voted for, Ontario. This is on you.

@glimse They do and they don’t. They have the physiological capacity to operate a firearm designed for adult humans. What they lack is an understanding of HOW to do it. They’ve been seen brandishing firearms in a manner SIMLAR to how humans they’ve seen do it, but they clearly don’t understand how it works. At the same time, just like small children or even some dogs have done, they can accidentally fire it, to their own or others’ peril. As a tool, they would use it like a stick.

@Naich @FartMaster69 Well, it CAN. He’s right about that much. An artist is free to make whatever choices they want. What he seems not to get is that everyone else is also free to judge you for the choices you make. You have a right to make fun of anyone you like, any way you like. But you don’t have a right to have those choices admired or rewarded, and not criticized. And he’s free to ignore the criticism, but he’s not. He seems to want it both ways, and that’s unreasonable.

@kat_angstrom Yeah, it’s a cult. Cults do weird stuff like this. It looks crazy from the outside, because it is, but it seems normal to those on the inside.

@makingrain LOL Grow up already.l

@makingrain ‘deluting’ is not a word. Well, it could be. It could mean to take someone’s lute away.
I believe you mean DILUTING, which is the act of reducing the concentration or strength of something by addition of a moderating agent.
In this case, I might use ‘diminish’ instead.

@MiddleAgesModem I think you’re being ridiculous, and that you will continue to be ridiculous, and that I don’t believe you’re likely to have anything worth hearing in the future, either.

@MiddleAgesModem I’m sure you don’t believe that your statement confuses fiction with reality.

@Paragone Supernatural things do not exist.

@WhatAmLemmy It is in some jurisdictions. Because porn is a for-profit business like any other, they don’t want their product banned or blocked if they can avoid it. That’s the financial incentive for step-porn. For users, it’s either ‘close enough’ or its own fetish.

@mrdown I also don’t believe that Iran seeks a nuclear device. The potential consequences are just too great for them. They could definitely destroy one or more Israeli cities if they wanted to, but they know that it would mean utter ruin for them in return. From a cost/benefit standpoint, it’s not worth it.
I think the greatest mistake the West makes in respect to Iran is assuming they are stupid. They are not.

@mrdown ‘Weapons grade’ is a scale, not a threshhold. It’s known that 20%> is sufficient, but very inefficient, requiring massive amounts of material. The higher the grade, the less you need. 60% is impractical, but still usable.
I won’t claim to know why Iran went to 60%, but it’s scientifically incorrect to say that you cannot make a viable atomic bomb from that, because you can.
That said, I don’t personally believe that Iran WOULD use it for that, because of how impractical it is.
@ScientifficDoggo None. That’s the point. It’s called ‘sarcasm’. It’s a human concept.
