It feels like people gave up. I hear many many people complain about it similarly to complaining about the weather. As if you can’t do anything about it anyways. Jira gives off a similar vibe. Hard to find anything bad about Teams on Microsoft Bing powered DuckDuckGo so perhaps just my close circle.
Addition: For video conf Jitsi and BigBlueButton work great for us when we can choose. Sadly it is often blocked by admins in large organisations.

Looks like you’re right. Global HQ in Sydney and US HQ in San Francisco as per Wikipedia. Same feeling on acceptance though.
