Why single out Tesla for blame when no other US EV maker even tried battery swapping? They all skipped it too. My point is that everyone should be held accountable. Not just Musk, like the user I was replying to, tried to imply.
But you just said you’re not convinced it’s even a worthwhile idea. So what’s the actual problem with it? The Chinese company in the article has been running 4000 stations for eight years and it directly fixes the “sit around waiting for a charge” headache.
If it’s a dumb tech, fine. But this thread devolved into “Tesla bad!!!” yet every other EV maker that never even tried it gets a free pass.
I’m still team “cheaper cars + faster turnaround for normal people who can’t drop $100k,” not team “Musk is rich, so he must be scamming us.”
Musk is the one who hyped it and then failed to deliver. Which he has a track record for doing CONSTANTLY. That is why Tesla bad. And one of many reasons why Elon is bad.
I don’t fault other EV makers for not hyping up bullshit. I do blame Tesla for it.
But you yourself, said you didn’t really believe in the tech. So Tesla not doing it is a good thing, right? Who cares if something is hyped. Every fucking company hypes shit. That’s biz as usual.
Tesla said it might be a big thing. It wasn’t. So they don’t do it. Same reason other EV companies don’t do it.
Ok, so now we are getting somewhere. You are mad because they hype stuff up. And that’s the reason you brought them up in this thread, even though they and OTHER EV companies don’t use a technology that even you yourself don’t think is that great. Correct?
Tesla hypes stuff up a lot, and that makes you really mad. You don’t even agree with the tech the article is talking about, and Tesla doesn’t use a tech that even YOU don’t fucking agree with.
Tesla doesn’t use a tech that other EV makers don’t use either, and you don’t even like the tech, but Tesla hyped it up once, even tho they made the correct choice in not using it.
Think about that for a sec. Then put the interwebs away, and go outside.
Ok, so what about the other EV cars that never even tried the battery swapping. Shouldn’t they catch heat for not doing it as well?
Not from me, I’m not convinced it’s a worthwhile idea.

Not every company hypes shit to the degree that Tesla does. That’s the root of my ire against them.
