If my appendix could develop into a full human, I wouldnt get it removed. How many cells we have is irrevelant, personhood matters.

So you are talking about potential personhood here or currently active personhood?

I guess it’s more about potential, because otherwise we wouldn’t have the debate.

Sperm and egg cells could develop into a full human. There’s potential personhood here. If you follow that train of thought, it would be a requirement for every woman to get pregnant constantly and every man to never “waste” sperm or something crazy like that. Doesn’t make sense.

Life begins at conception. Then it’s active personhood

So your definition of “personhood” does not depend on the existence of a person?

What is your definition then? I’m sensing a circular definition incoming.

“Life begins at conception” - “Why?” - “Because that’s when personhood begins” - “Why?” - “Because personhood begins when they are given their souls, at birth”

All you are doing is rotating terms to start back in the beginning.

And all of your arguments hinge on your personal belief. Without your personal belief, all the arguments are null and void.

Life begins at conception as thats when the egg is fertilized, resulting in the formation of a whole different human being with their own personhood and soul
