Way ahead. I tried Linux earlier this year hoping I could learn to get used to it in time before the end of support for 10 and it turned out to be a far smoother transition that I anticipated. I haven’t booted my Windows partition since.

I think for most users it should be, and getting better all the time.

Just if you play games with anticheat, or use something just incompatible like Adobe products.

That’s even shorter than Windows XP! And technology hasn’t advanced nearly as much as during those 14 years

And Windows 10 was supposed to be the last release becoming a rolling release. Only a sucker would have actually believed that.

Yes, only a sucker would have believed that, because it was manufactured clickbait, not something Microsoft ever said.

Right as they have begun rolling out Copilot… It’s a dystopian world we are about to be a part of, if you don’t already think we’re living in it now. Viva la Linux!

As always, there will be ways to point Windows Update at the long term support channels meant for government and people who have contracted support with Microsoft.

CoPilot and Recall are both disable-able, and I beilieve CoPilot can be fully uninstalled. If you don’t have a Pro license for Windows (giving you access to Group Policy) it’s a good idea to use MASGrave to activate as Pro for free. Most of these settings are best controlled through Group Policy, as that is Microsoft’s official tool meant for SysAdmins to manage this zort of thing.

Still, terrible look for Microsoft, great time to try Linux. Just not so end of the world as a lot of articles seem to indicate.
