Last Christmas was nice. The christmas before that, it was me and my mum. I arrived at 8. She was blackout drunk at 9pm.

I’m sober since then. I drank a lot at some time but I took control of it bit by bit. I admit I compensate with weed which isn’t really healthy either, and there are tough days, but my health went up, my energy went up, my morale went up, I dont miss it at all lmao.

Fun fact: amphibians can’t breath while eating or drinking because they lack the “wall” between mouth and nose. They can touch the nose with their tongue from the inside. I’m not sure about reptiles

I’ve been California sober for a year and I feel much better, I do miss drinking sometimes tho.

I disliked the effects of weed back when it was illegal (Canada); just made me paranoid. Our legalization of recreational marijuana helped me understand that weed is more than THC. (Anything I’d have smoked back in the 90s was probably crazy amounts of sole THC.)

Legalization has allowed me to experiment with CBD levels. Now I get a 1:2 ratio of THC:CBD and it’s a completely different thing. I’m relaxed, smiley, glued to the couch and off of Benzos. (I like Mango Haze.)

I know it’s not for everyone, and I’m not a pusher, but I thought I’d mention that CBD is a game changer. (There is CBG now too.)

I recently convinced my super antiweed mum to give CBD to my old cat lmao. She’s 21 and full of muscle pain, she told me it helped.

Thanks for the recommendations. I tried that a few years ago and still didn’t like it. There are only two situations where I can enjoy it. The first is if I’m already hammered drunk, but I don’t drink anymore. The second is if I’m in the high country backpacking. I do that quite a bit, but I have such a great time up there anyways, I don’t see the need to do any drugs. If I’m with someone who is passing it around, I might take a hit. Otherwise I just leave it alone. It’s not for me, unfortunately.

Yes, but… speaking from experience, it is definitely possible to overdo it on that angle. The psychological impacts of heavy long term use are… shall we say, unsubtle, but at the same time, REALLY hard to admit and see for yourself if you’re in the throes of it.

Moderation and T-breaks are frankly pretty crucial.

Oh definitely! I agree. I vape on a more or less daily basis, which is based on medical advice and a prescription, and even then I think it’s important to take some time out every now and then.

It’s much healthier to cope by punching yourself in the balls (or the cunt, for others so inclined). The beautiful bliss brought by big ball busting breaks by bleary boundaries binding you to bleakness.
