Say what you will about Trump’s implementations, but solving illegal immigration has been acknowledged as an important goal on both sides of the aisle for decades.
He hasn’t shied from the challenge, and for better or worse he’s certainly not lacking in earnestness.
Some people are American citizens and some people are not.
American citizens decide who becomes an American citizen.
People who “break into” America without permission will be removed from America.

American citizens believe that non-American citizens are not people
But on what basis do people support illegal immigration?
Sure, the average Mexican citizen would probably live a better life as an American citizen, but so too would the average American citizen live a far better life as a Swiss or Monegasque citizen. Do all Americans have the right to move to Switzerland and enjoy the privileges of citizenship?
Should NGOs be flying Americans to Monaco and putting them up in the Hotel de Paris? Where does it end?
Far better to bloom where you’re planted, in my humble opinion.

Nope. He did shy from the challenge. “Build a wall and make Mexico pay for it” is not a serious attempt to deal with a structural socioeconomic issue.
That isn’t earnestness it’s lazy thinking. Might as well just pour Brawndo on it.
Just allow everyone in so it’s not illegal anymore. Problem solved.

Ellis Island didn’t send anyone away - unless they had like TB or something.
In the 50’s - many Mexican Americans who were legally citizens were deported in “Operation Wetback.” Based on skin color/appearance - which matches with the reports of what ICE is doing now harassing Native Americans.
It’s never been about following rules, it’s always been about being the right kind of person

Views that include believing people who are different from you aren’t people at all should never be respected, for any reason, ever.
Could you expand on this?
It’s impossible for me to expand on thoughts that came from your head and not mine, so since I didn’t say that you’ll have to try again.
How do you equate the view that

I’ve yet to encounter someone who is against illegal immigration that isn’t also majorly racist.
