That’s a really poor argument considering the article’s contents. I’m starting to think you didn’t actually read it.

I read the article and I think the argument is fine. They play up not knowing why she’s supporting Musk, but six million dollars is six million dollars.

So you think she was being paid peanuts at NBCUniversal and left to join a sinking ship in the hopes of making more money? That doesn’t seem especially rational of someone. But it makes a lot more sense if instead, they worship Musk and think he’s changing the world.

I’ve worked with big companies during big mergers. The higher ups don’t see a sinking ship. They see money and opportunity, regardless of how far from reality that really is. Maybe you and I consider that irrational, but with these people, most of their actions are not driven by rationale.

I guess, but as the article says, even her colleagues are begging her to leave Twitter and she isn’t listening. I don’t know why people find it so hard to believe that she’s yet another Musk sycophant. Especially since she’s MAGA.

i don’t think anyone finds it hard to believe, just that there could be multiple justifications… assumptions are never good, and pointing out that $6m/y is a pretty good alternative justification

… also, it could easily be both

I forget where I found it but there was a long article about her backstory, with interviews from her old colleagues at NBCU, where they made it very clear one of her own major personal goals was to be a CEO of some company, and in general she just thirsts after power and status. In addition she was painted as very spicy/short fused with her employees.
