    Escape from New York

    Well he obviously just broke in so he could make a movie about it.

      Escape from New York type of movie but found footage investigative journalist sneaks into city prison is an interesting idea

      It has its charm and also Isaac Hayes. I think Doomsday (2008) did an excellent job at adapting the idea and making it way wackier but also oddly lived-in - something Escape from LA tries and failed to do slipping into straight camp.

      the best kind of movie - the one that implies there is bigger world outside and we’re witnessing only a tiny bit of this realm.

      what’s even funnier is that his character is inspired by Hal Needham - the same guy who inspired Cliff Booth in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - who was also a top tier stuntman who later graduated into film directing and did a bunch of bombastic films with Burt Reynolds. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel could easily be the making of The Cannonball Run.
