I never understood the Winnie the Pooh jokes. They’re not funny and he’s a beloved character so I don’t get it…

I think the meme started with a picture of Xi and Obama being compared with Winnie the Pooh (yellow asian) and Tigger (rhymes with ******). It’s always been racism.

I can understand if it was censored in China for becoming a fascist symbol for the color revolution, however, it seems to not be the case.

If a country would go out of their way to ban a cartoon character they wouldn’t have an article in the national news outlet about it. Unless they realized a bit later that banning Winnie the Pooh would be seen as very silly.

Oh so just straight up lies and racism… racists get weirdly creative when it comes to their hatred… I don’t understand the thought process but that’s probably for the best.

Not much to understand: he looks like him and he’s ridiculously touchy about it to the point of using draconian government censorship to stop anyone in China from pointing it out and as such, pointing it out is a fun and silly way to protest oppression.
