Fortunately for Mr. Dingus, this probably won’t go anywhere. I imagine his lawyers will argue that he had a reasonable expectation of privacy within his own home, and that as the property owner he did not consent to recording equipment being installed. The case will be dismissed, headlines will read “DINGUS IS INNOCENT!” and nobody will dig any deeper than that, ever.

Justice prevails again.
