Pre-workout supplements promising extra energy for workouts may come with a hidden cost: severely reduced sleep. A study of people aged 16–30 found users were more than twice as likely to sleep five hours or less per night. Many of these products pack huge doses of caffeine and stimulants that can linger for hours. Researchers say the findings raise concerns about the impact on young people’s health and development.
Caffeine is a drug.
It massively distorts one’s biological-process, trashing one’s ability to get rest.
Overdosing on it kills people.
It is added to colas to make them addictive ( their makers’ pretense that caffeine is a “flavor enhancer” is false: all it adds is bitterness, which can be added by Bitrex™, or bitter-gourd extract, or something, more cheaply: addiction’s the goal, & that’s what they’re manufacturing ).
People destroying their own health with chemicals … IF they’re being correctly warned of the consequences of consuming those chemicals, fine: that’s their choice.
However, the refusal to coerce caffeine-pushers into identifying just how much they’re including, & just what that does to people’s health, puts responsibility on “government”, too.
For-profit industry inherently-is narcissistic-machiavellian-sociopathic, aka DarkTriad, so “blaming” them for being machiavellian is pointless.
Cynical, but true.
