    Literally any. For me it was a great grandparent. I’ve never even been to Canada but I’m a full citizen now (and they recognize dual citizenships, plus no taxes inherently unless you work in the country so there’s really no downside). But I’ve spoken to people who could track down ancestors who were British subjects in Canada before Canadian independence, and so long as you can show a paper trail, it counts. Only applies to those born before Dec 15th, 2025 but I think that everyone here clears that bar lol
