Hey Everyone,
Been meaning to bring this for a bit now and with the recent news about .world defederating from anarchist.nexus I think it’s a good time to move this community to another instance.
The admins of .world have repeatedly made questionable decisions to defederate instances while allowing other problematic posters to still be on their instance. I think this shrinks the possible community that this place can reach so I think it’s best we move to a community with better federation policy.
Would like to hear others thoughts on which instance would be a good place.

lemmy.ca is pretty stable
I vote for moving to piefed! Either the flagship instance (.social) or .zip. I was originally from lemm.ee because the admin was cool and gave the users autonomy to choose the instances to block, instead of taking it upon themselves to decide on behalf of everyone else. Then .ee closed down, so I moved to lemmy.zip because the admin had a similar policy. Then I moved over to their piefed instance (piefed.zip) because piefed was the new cool kid.
My experience has been great so far. And piefed has flairs! We can do team flairs.
Yeah awhile back when rezz got banned I was thinking .ee was a good alternative to move to, sucks they got shutdown.
@mill_city@lemmy.zip recomended lemmy.zip as well and I haven’t heard of any issues about it or its piefed instance so I think those could be good candidates.
I do like the idea of having team flares, does piefed have a good walkthrough of how those features work?

I don’t have specific advice on an instances to move to, but you are totally correct to leave .world. Looks like things are gonna get worse on .world, and not better. But I’ll follow the comm to where you decide to go. :)
I’m open to whatever and will follow the community wherever it lands if it moves. I like lemmy.zip (obviously) but I’m sure there are other instances that are just as good.
My gut says pie fed, but I am very inactive these days and don’t know the good argument for it.
Weren’t there some recent transparency concerns with piefed too? I don’t remember the details.
Yeah there’s some transparency issues with default blocking instances iirc but think that can be turned off. The bigger concern is apparently the main (only?) dev had a huge crash out after I posted this.
Been a bit busy with life to dig into everything but planning on looking at the options and making a new post to vote on with an explanation of each soon so we can use the offseason to move over I think.
