Forgotten evils awaken in Path of Exile 2: Return of the Ancients! With six new Endgame storylines, a new Challenge League, new Pinnacle Bosses, new crafting...
So the discussion you pointed to shows the differences. Are you on the Chinese server or does it not apply to you in the slightest?
If you want your game to be published in China there is basically no way around tencent and their adjustments. I do not like that but I do not blame the gamedesigners unless they muddy their vision worldwide. Not the case here.
Bruh, a quick google search shows me Tencent has stakes in;
Riot, Epic, Larian, FromSoft, Krafton, Ubisoft, Activision/Blizzard, GGG, Remedy, DE, Platinum, Kakao, Paradox, Discord and is a partner with Microsoft.
Who’s left in the AAA industry? Sony, Nintendo and cdpr?
It didn’t cost $480 dollars to get early access to PoE2, it cost $20 USD. Every microtransaction above that came with it bundled. Including the $480 league skin bundles.
You don’t need bank space to play endgame at all, it’s simply more convenient, people do it all the time.
Didn’t know about the Chinese server thing though, that’s interesting. But I doubt it’s responsible for funding the rest of the game. GGG is a private company we don’t know what their books look like but if you think most of the money comes from China I don’t think you’ve ever loaded into a town in PoE. Other companies like DE with Warframe and ArenaNet with GW2 would also theoretically be in the same boat.
Also, when it comes to Chinese releases, I’m pretty sure China requires you to have a local publisher so it’s questionable how much control of this, or how much of the profit GGG gets from it.
You started with " I don’t play Tencent games, we have heaps of games not related to them anyway" and now your down to a game that’s not been released and a game that was released in 2013.
2 games is not a lot unless counting is extremely difficult for you.

So you’re not answering the question because you don’t have an answer right?

Bruh, valve isn’t a AAA studio, they makes games as an occasional side hustle :(
What AAA games has Disney made?
Already said Sony.
When has wizards of the coast made a game?
EA is owned by the Saudi’s instead.
They still have a stake in Activision.
Sure, they don’t own Mihoyo, but mihoyo games are definitely full of all that evil spyware, so we can probably exclude them as well.
So that makes Sony, Nintendo and cdpr right?
We’re ignoring indie, we’re talking about Tencent.
