The decision is a major victory for Republicans, wiping away a measure approved by voters to allow Democrats to gain as many as four House seats in the midterms.
The Republicans are about to gerrymander all the black representatives out of the South, so it’s going to be a very uphill effort for Democrats to win a majority int he House, even if 60% of Americans vote for Democrats.
As expected. I’m not sure why Dems were dancing around, celebrating the redistricting map, like the conservatives were finding out what happens when you fuck around with gerrymandering. There is no consistency in conservative ideology beyond “We’re good people, so what we want is good, and what we don’t want is bad.” Republican gerrymandering is good, democrat gerrymandering is bad, they will fight violently to defend the former and stop the latter. Nobody should be shocked by this.
