As the others said, some are just there for clout chasing with easy “wins”, but in a talk by the curl maintainer who faces this same issue he thinks they are actually trying to help, they just don’t have the know how and skills to understand what they are actually doing.
I was going to point that, initally, isn’t it a good sign that obviously many people are concerned about the security of an open source project like linux?
Since I believe in humans in general (stupid me I guess) this news isn’t necessarily a bad sign in time of US big tec dropping the mask and becoming outright evil and abusive.
Are they trying to help or hurt.
