Stoneham Police Seek Owner Of Creepy Puppet Turned In At Station

By General News Register Staff

STONEHAM, Mass. Stoneham police are trying to find the owner of a puppet that was turned in at the department, a request that quickly drew jokes from residents online.

The department posted about the puppet on social media after it was brought to the station.

“We are attempting to locate the owner of this puppet that was turned into the station,” the Stoneham police posted to social media.

Police added a lighter warning in the same post.

“If this belongs to you — or if you recognize it from your nightmares — please contact us to arrange pickup,” the post said. “All jokes aside, if anyone knows where this puppet came from contact the station.”

The post drew several comments from people who treated the missing puppet less like lost property and more like the beginning of a horror movie.

“I wouldn’t worry about it,” said one. “If I’ve learned anything from horror movies, it’s that a cursed puppet will find its owner all on its own.”

Another commenter suggested extra caution.

“That’s awesome!” said another. “But I would put it in a cell at night handcuffed! Just in case it’s a relative of Chucky’s!”

A third commenter advised officers working late to stay prepared.

“Hope whoever is working the overnight at the station is packing,” yet another said. “And maybe some holy water.”

Police did not immediately identify where the puppet was found or who brought it to the station. Anyone with information about the puppet’s owner was asked to contact the Stoneham Police Department.
