    I’ve always known this, I suppose because I’ve been interested in electronics since I was a kid. He said it came from the back of a sewing machine, and that it’s on everything electric. But, that’s not true. In fact a sewing machine that runs on both (A)lternating (C)urrent and (D)irect (C)urrent would be a bit unusual. I guess it was a portable machine that ran on both mains and batteries?
