There’s a lot of value to banishing billionaires from your state. If they don’t live somewhere, they’re going to be less tempted to spend money to influence the laws there.
But we don’t want them here and California, except for the billionaires and their lackeys and orange county and Fresno and certain undesirable transients plaguing sacramento is a genuinely wonderful place to live if you’re not one of the fire-slaves or something.
Fixing one of those problems would still be a success, and it would deny them something nice that they want. Which would also be nice.
There is that and the fact that it should be a national thing to shut down avoidance options.
