They had deals with a couple of the sketchier professors who had their own little shelves that they would sell overpriced class supplies and expensive prints of their required readings.

Yeah his book was basically a giant rant claiming that slavery had nothing to do with the civil war, and it had been copied from copies so often that it was barely legible.
Oh, I don’t mean his actual beliefs. Just that the scams that him and other professors were running back in the day were impressively technical about being unethical but technically allowed.
