    So I’ve been thinking about the RAM shortage that seems to just be getting worse and worse. Sure, there is a huge demand from companies building their AI infrastructure. But only a few factories in the world process silicon into the chips we can use for that. In my mind, that creates a cartel-like situation where a real shortage could easily be maintained artificially to keep prices up.

    My partner says I sound like my mum talking about the moon landing. 😄 This feels less fun though.

      The RAM cartel is a real thing that has resulted in multiple legal actions in the past. Not even a theory, just “good business” as far as the big 3 are concerned.

      It’s not that kind of conspiracy when people from those companies have already been sent to jail for market manipulation via a cartel which artificially to kept prices up. It’s just good sense to expect more of the same.
