We discussed with the President the challenges facing our country and the changes needed to strengthen the Government’s work and our relations with international partners.

Today, it is vitally important to pool all our strengths and resources to strengthen Ukraine.

I am grateful to the President for his trust and high regard for our team’s work. I am proud to have had the honour of leading the Government during the most difficult period in Ukraine’s recent history.

I would like to thank every single person defending Ukrainian soil; our military are our strength and our independence.

I would like to thank the entire government team for their work for the good of the state during this time of great challenges. Together, we have visited every corner of our incredible country, paying particular attention to the frontline regions; we have taken extremely complex and urgent decisions; we have weathered the harshest winter; and not for a single second have we allowed the enemy to stop the heartbeat of our state — its economy.

I also discussed our next steps with the President.

I am ready to continue serving the Ukrainian state and carrying out tasks aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s position, protecting our national interests and bringing about a just peace.

Glory to Ukraine!🇺🇦

No because of martial law. Because of the invasion. Like I said.

There are brakes. When the invasion ends, when Ukraine is safe, they can hold elections. All Ukrainians understand this. The law is written as such.

You’re talking about something with so much emotion and you didn’t even bother to look it up

I just don’t quite understand what stops you from holding the election now and letting them enter power when the war ends? And again, what are the brakes? You keep saying “we have brakes, we have brakes, airbags exist” well, please, present them.

        MARTIAL LAW

Dude how many times do I have to say it?

Russia invaded. Martial law was established, part of that is you cannot hold elections. The Ukrainian law is pretty clear, Zelensky isn’t out after 5 year term, he’s out after the next election which is postponed until Ukraine is safe because of the Russian invasion so they set martial law. Martial law states all elections are postponed. Zelensky’s term is expected to be 5 years but that’s not the limit, the end of his term explicitly states when the next election is held which is postponed due to martial law because of the Russian invasion.

        Okay? Does that make sense?

There also is nothing wrong in this scenario, there’s no corruption or angle of evil he’s pulling. That is the law before he was probably even born.

        Let’s go again.

        • RUSSIA INVADES.
        • MARTIAL LAW IS DELCARED (because of the invasion)
        • ELECTIONS ARE POSTPONED (due to martial law ^*because ^of ^the ^Russian ^invasion)

It states very clearly Zelensky does not have a 5 year term, he has his term until the next election. Elections are held every 5 years. But due to martial law, because of the Russian invasion, they are postponed.

So what will happen is the war will end and they will run elections that might take a year or so however long they choose and until the votes are cast and the election ends, he’s president.

Anything not made clear? It’s pretty simple. Lmfao

You are using this term brakes as if this needs to stop, as if they’re heading toward some catastrophe. They’re not. The law is pretty clear and people understand that. The government knows what to expect. The plan is in motion but due to martial law part of that motion is to suspend elections until martial law ends.

        Okay? Okay.

Okay got it, magic. Your solution is to use your wizard magic on whoever ends up in power when the war ends immediately forcing them to leave office with your mind powers. No organization, and apparently, if what you’re saying is correct, no constitutional authority of parliament or courts or whoever to take command of forces to remove them from power.

            You’re an idiot.

Elections are illegal under martial law. That is the law. Nothing else needs to be understood

So Ukraine has accidentally enshrined dictatorial power if Zelensky or somebody else doesn’t step down. That’s not good and in the future I hope they fix that.

I sincerely doubt Ukrainians are stupid enough to intentionally enshrine dictatorial power, you’re being extremely rude to the Ukrainian people, right now.

                  • Are you being intentionally dense or something? They’ve already repeatedly explained that martial law ends when the war ends. Martial laew needs to be continually extended by the Ukrainian parliament. Zelensky can’t hold on to power through martial law since he isn’t the one deciding whether or not it continues. And once it ends, elections are held per the constitutional provisions for it. I really don’t understand what more you actually want here.

I sincerely doubt Ukrainians are stupid enough to intentionally enshrine dictatorial power

Then why are you being so adamant that they did?
