The snake gets the blame directly

Let’s see what the rest of the bible has to say.

2 Corinthians 11:

But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

1 Timothy 2:

And Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.

Deuteronomy is describing a rape scenario. If you think this is consensual, you are more dangerous than I thought. Read that whole chapter.

23 If there is a young lady who is a virgin pledged to be married to a husband, and a man finds her in the city, and lies with her, 24 then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones; the lady, because she didn’t cry, being in the city; and the man, because he has humbled his neighbor’s wife. So you shall remove the evil from among you.

She deserves to be stoned to death because she didn’t scream loud enough while being sexually assaulted?

That verse implies that the husbands, impressed by the righteous behavior of the wife would turn to Christ.

What a wild interpretation. Silly me, I was reading the actual words.

How about the rest of the bible?

1 Corinthians 14:

The women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.

1 Corinthians 11:

But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.

Same chapter:

For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.

1 Timothy 2:

Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.

Ephesians 5:

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

Can you find as many equivalent verses for the men? And I mean equivalent, not false equivalences.

Only men can become priests but women can become nuns, and by extension have leadership roles in the church. There are 3 or above women in the council that vets bishops.

How stupidly sexist. Why hasn’t this been updated now that we know women are as capable as men?

Mark 10:5 But Jesus responded by saying: “It was due to the hardness of your heart that he wrote that precept for you.

Did god harden that heart, like he did with pharaoh? Free will is impossible if god knows what will happen and creates everything. But apparently even that wasn’t good enough because he’s really bad at planning ahead, so sometimes he directly intervenes by changing our minds to suit his needs.
