No I can’t even agree that that’s relevant to the post. Mental illness doesn’t teach you that it’s OK to abuse women, mental illness doesn’t teach you to be racist, and plenty of very mentally ill people have absolutely no inclination towards those things. Does it make you more susceptible to the worst society has to offer? Of course, but your neurons misfiring doesn’t automatically lead to the conclusion that you have shoot up a school or abuse your family or anything else like that.
I think you’re misunderstanding the quote. It literally means that mental illness is not an excuse to abuse others, not the everyone with a mental illness is abusive.

Same for trauma. I mean you have to deal with it, not alone if you can get help but that not the perpetrator who have to deal with the damages.
