Was a daily smoker almost uninterrupted for like 7-8 years (only ever 2-3 days off at most while travelling), had an epiphany last weekend and decided it wasn’t helping make life any better (also, $$$) and simply stopped. On average I was probably smoking 1-2g per day.

It’s been about 9 days and I only smoke in my newly more-vivid dreams (!) and also I’ve been outright weepy for major chunks of the day, which is unlike me. Is this normal? (I’m also turning 40 in a few weeks and have some feelings about that so it’s kinda tough to tell what’s motivating what.)

Anyway, was wondering if anyone else had quit and what it was like for them.

I quit recently, it has taken a while to get right as it were. Like cravings wear off after a while and the dreams come back hard and strange, but it can be hard to like find joy for a while, I think I’m still recovering even though its been a few months.

I also basically quit drinking because there’d been too many cases of me grabbing a couple of beers with friends and hitting up the dispensary on the way home. The booze wasn’t hard to quit, the shit basically doesn’t work on me anymore, but I kinda wish I could have a normal relationship with weed. I can’t though, I’ve never been able to like not be high. I can be very functional, and its helps me over the years, but I also had some really awful experiences on top of like hating myself and hiding my use from family, because they’d worry if they knew how much I consumed.

All in all I feel pretty though, my Mojo’s coming back, but I would def recommend just getting lots of rest, drinking lots of water, maybe taking some omega brain supplements, and try to work out if you have the gumption.
