Elon Musk is such an incel it hurts to comprehend.

Oh, okay, got it. Your entire argument is you were abused so you’re now an expert even though you can’t see through your own rage to spend a half second understand what others are actually saying. I’m done with this.

I genuinely mean this. I hope you find healing and can let go of the hatred because it seems like you still need to.

Snoop isn’t wrong. Either you don’t know how to think critically or your being disingenuously ignorant.

Thank you. Unfortunately, abuse has been normalized, hence the downvotes, yet no compelling counterarguments.

Children can’t advocate for themselves. They need us to push back against the attitudes that lead to their needless suffering. It’s largely thankless work, but very important.

Thanks. It’s incredibly difficult when people like you are still actively enabling it. It’s like being told to heal from a stab wound while the knife is still in.

To the downvoters: my boomer father was not as into video games as Musk. After coming home from work, my father would sit in the recliner and watch sitcoms on TV. Three’s Company. Cheers. MASH. I have clear memories of lying on the carpet in the living room, staying quiet so he could enjoy his shows, because it was some of the only time I could spend with him.

As an adult with the benefit of hindsight, I can confidently assert that I was abused. There was physical abuse, there was mental and emotional abuse, and I was neglected, but in the socially acceptable way where everyone pretends that being a wage slave and choosing to have kids means that a person is entitled to mistreat those kids.

Do better, please. Children deserve better. Thank you.

I’ll tell you the same thing I tell my closest friend who was also abused as a child and continues to struggle with it to this day.

You had a shit childhood. We all get it. It sucks and it shouldn’t have happened and it shouldn’t happen to any child but it does and it sucks and the world sucks for letting it happen. But it happened in the past. You can’t continue letting the past control your present and your future. You have to take accountability for yourself and your own actions.

My father did the same thing as yours which is very common for his generation and specifically British men. Come home. Plop on couch. Watch TV. I played Lego on the carpet and watched what my father watched. That in and of itself was not child abuse.

This is why you’re getting negative votes and responses.

If you have access to it, please consider therapy.

You can’t continue letting the past control your present and your future. You have to take accountability for yourself and your own actions.

Listen carefully. I did not choose to be abused; in fact, I specifically requested not to. But it happened. It is physically a part of me. I can’t pretend it away. Please stop blaming the victims.

That in and of itself was not child abuse.

Yes it was, and I’m sorry it happened to you. You deserved better.

This is why you’re getting negative votes and responses.

Because people aren’t using their brains. Because it’s easier to continue normalizing abuse than to break the cycle.

If you have access to it, please consider therapy

My next appointment is tomorrow. This is my fifth therapist, none of the others have been a good fit.

Although you are not listening to reason, I can at least thank you for treating me like a human being. It matters a lot.

Thank you. 🥲 I went to school for web development because I wanted to make video games. I haven’t made any games since my Flash days, but I do have an ad-free website where you can see more of my unhinged struggle, if anyone cares. No pressure. https://snoopsqueak.com/

I could fix the search bar any day, but I want to be careful to sanitize the input and I’ve been dealing with a lot, so I’ve been putting it off. I need to get another job before I run out of money.

Holy crap, five therapists and saying they all weren’t a fit? “If you smell crap everywhere you go…”

Hey shitbag. The correct response is “I’m glad you are seeking help, please keep trying.” I live in the bible belt. Education is a joke and everything is a scam.

Do you think I should have stayed with the therapist who suggested I normalize my parents’ abusive qualities? That shit gets people killed.

The average person goes through 2-3 therapists when seeking help. And, guess what?

Others need four or five tries, particularly if they’re dealing with something specialized like trauma processing, eating disorders, or identity-related concerns where shared understanding matters more. Neither scenario means something is wrong with you. The search itself is a normal part of the process.

Fuck you for victim-blaming. Your ignorance is deadly.
