    Excel + PowerBI (query?) is too powerful.

    Maybe some LibreOffice + KNime integration + Easier Python macroing would be THE killer feature coming from a FOSS office suite.

      Power Query just trivialises so many once annoying tasks I can’t imagine going back to “just a spreadsheet”

        I agree. Do you know KNIME? It does a lot of the same transformations. But something like DAX has to be provided by Python.

          No idea about KNIME personally. I find there’s real value in having the Swiss army knife of Excel that every office worker has access to be able to do really in-depth and multi-step transformations without needing access to a scripting language and package manager. Normally corporate IT are a little cagey handing out access to Python to a random admin staff member, but we all have and can share Excel stuff no problem.

      Actually, expanding on that, LibreOffice needs both a book like OpenOffice.org Macros explained, but for Python and a grumpy guru like Villeroy, but on the pythonic side of the fence.
