Today we celebrate the anniversary of the death by neck spasm of youtuber Charlie Kirk, he was an annoying podcaster who spread his reactionary and haterful ideology everywhere he went and just like like any other hateful person who dies no one cared he kirk the bullet (even his own wife decided to monetice his funeral ever since) and even his friends forgot about him or fought over his viewerbase, now days he lives on as permanent stain on the datacenter of every ai model since people made so many memes of him that now ai by default adds him to pictures

every time I see a crash out post I wonder: “Am I just not taking things seriously enough?”
Like I haven’t even been temp banned I don’t think am I just not very interesting?
Sometimes I type out really long replies to people, I spend 20+ minutes writing and then instead of “reply” i click “cancel” and move on with my life
I’ve never felt so seen

This is the proper amount of circumspection for posting
more likely you’ve got healthy internal boundaries w/r/t to your internet use (very good thing) combined with a certain amount of good luck to not have run afoul of ppl who thrive on internet conflict/drama (& even if you did practicing good “Mark All As Read” trigger discipline can generally keep u in the Chill Zone)
My ultimate move is to ask a question, forget about it for an hour, come back on to see double digit replies and go “oh shit oh fuck” and mark all as read.
Mine is to do the same, but instead let the notifications eat at me for days, limiting my use of hexbear, and causing me anxiety. And then the next mega gets posted and it’s like okay well now I can’t respond.
After a certain point I basically accepted that this is only a game, we’re all just in the wilderness of the posting RPG. I don’t actually have to fight every random encounter I stumble into, I can just cut my losses and run. I guess that means I miss out on the exp but I think I’m a lot happier when I do this, grinding is just not very fun to me. I prefer exploration, y’know?
I don’t post enough nowdays regardless but in the past I did almost get dragged into an argument related to current ongoing crashout and decided to hit read all and log off instead, younger me would have absolutely gotten 50 replies deep with nothing of value gained.
I think it’s also because i consider this my “home” online so I try not to shit where I eat, as the saying goes.
I shit at home usually (im a bad communist I have ibs and I’m too embarrassed/i don’t like pooping ar work)
