Many people act like money makes you good, popular or smart.

It may have to do about who has most influence, rather than real personality.

I’m torn, should I watch the Elon Musk or the Elizabeth Holmes doc first? So many inflated egos to rubberneck at!

I know he is a vile piece of shit who shouldn’t have influence over a breakfast menu, let alone this country. I don’t need a 90 minute explainer on his shittiness. But if someone else does, I’m glad they have it.

it’s not to convince you he’s a putrid rotting bag of shit. it’s to educate the masses on why he’s a flesh eating virus of a human.

Holmes is old news, but if you’re pressed for time, wait for the Jensen Huang/Sam Altman docs, also concluding they are criminal assholes. sorry for the spoiler.

It also raises questions about Musk’s access to sensitive government data during his time leading DOGE, with Geoffrey Hinton warning plainly in the film that if someone wanted to corrupt the midterm elections using AI, “all you needed to do was get detailed information on U.S. citizens. And what DOGE did looked like just what you would do.”

This statement is useless in this context. AI can recognize patterns like the best of us and thats all you need to accomplish voter suppression.

People treat AI like computers were treated in the 90s and 00s.

It is not magic. You’re still handwaving. “Recognizing patterns” is not sufficient to suppress voting.

Do you not understand how ingesting enormous amounts of civilian data can lead to voter suppression? If I know everything about you I can stop you from voting all together. I can target blue areas and block parts of the city off with cops to make it harder to get to the polls. I can find out which cities are strongholds of my greatest enemies and send ICE there for “Immigration activities”. You’d have to be brain dead to not realize what you can do with this.

No - I don’t. And neither do you. You just told me that “you can” but not “how”. It’s more handwaving. Exactly what would you do with all the information you have about me?

Friend you can do that now without AI. You can declare a police state to block all voting. AI is not magic.

Go ahead and ask any question about me and tell me how you would stop me from voting with the answer.

You are moving the goalposts. No amount of detail can assuage your definition of “handwaving”.

I didn’t move the goalposts - nobody has shot on net yet.

“Mister Musk” would have been a great title too. It’s like in “The Toy” when the butler calls the kid “Master Bates”.
