The backlash to Meta's AI glasses has been so fierce that the company is reportedly now working on a version with no camera.

The camera-free glasses, code-named Luna, will still feature an array of six microphones to allow users to speak to the company’s AI chatbot and its recently-released AI assistant, called Muse. They’ll presumably pick up audio from users’ environments as well, where bystanders may not be aware of the eavesdropping.

    SIX?

Good luck trying to build a better lav.

GOOD! Can’t wait for other companies to follow suit.

Literally all anyone wants is a heads up display in their glasses. Nobody wants a shitty webcam on their head.

I want AR glasses so badly, but the tech just isn’t there yet. I’ve been watching holography research like a hawk.

Have you seen Even G2? Pricey, but no camera, there is a HUD, there’s some AI stuff baked in that you can (hopefully) turn off.

They all seem pricey and gimmicky at the moment though
